Hundreds of adults have earned a Florida Driver License through the Burgess Driving School Adult Driver Guaranteed Program.
After signing up, you get access to our instructor calendar with up to four 2-hour training blocks that you can schedule any time you want - we recommend packing them close together over a week or two. We also recommend saving the last session for road test practice and the test itself - but if you're not ready, no problem! You and your instructor will decide when you are ready to take the test - usually after 6-8 hours of training.
You and your instructor will visit the DMV, practice the route and skills, then your instructor will wait for you while you take the official DMV road test with a certified examiner. If you pass, you get your Florida Driver License immediately after.
If you're unsuccessful, you and your instructor will talk with the examiner about what to work on before attempting the test a second time. You'll practice again, then retake the test.
If you still don't succeed, don't worry. We've got you. We'll continue to train and practice specific skills until you get it right - and we'll work patiently with you until you earn your license, we guarantee it!
Common questions
How many times can I retake the official DMV Road Test?
We don't know, and we don't intend to find out! =) Most students pass on the first try. Others have required a second attempt. In the event of an unsuccessful test, we work closely with our students and with the DMV to identify skill areas that need more practice and we address those with the student in a relaxed 2-hour training review session. Among students who have attempted the road test at least once with us, all have eventually earned a driver license using this program.
Do I have to pay more if I need to use the car for a second or third road test attempt?
No. For one low price, we stick with all our students until they earn their driver license, no matter how long it takes.
If I fail repeatedly, can I get a refund?
Yes, we offer 50% refunds to any student that attempts the test three times and / or does not want to continue training after three unsuccessful DMV Road Test attempts. However, if you are willing to continue training, we'll continue to work with you until you pass.
What if I'm ready to take the test after just one session?
We don't just teach our Adult Driver Guaranteed students how to pass the test. In fact, there is a wide variety of training that we focus on that is far beyond what is required to pass the road skills exam. From highway driving to high-intensity pedestrian traffic, lane changes and parallel parking, we will go above and beyond to make you a safe, courteous and knowledgable driver.
